Young Women Social Entrepreneurs have vision and ambition. They provide an environment in which young women social entrepreneurs’ visions and goals are affirmed, supported, promoted, and propelled. YWSE is a national organization that serves women with a socially conscious agenda who are founders and leaders within businesses, non-profits, and government organizations. They use ‘young’ to describe their target audience of women who are ‘young’ in their ventures – professionals in development stages of any aspect of their entrepreneurial careers. The USGBC South Florida Chapter, is a nonprofit (501[c][3]) organization governed entirely by volunteers who serve without recompense. It has five extremely active Branches under its organizational umbrella — the Treasure Coast Branch, Palm Beach Branch, Broward Branch, Miami-Dade Branch and the Keys Branch. Branch activities range from monthly educational programs to instructive tours of green facilities, from social networking to green gatherings, from helping municipalities and school districts with their green initiatives to co-sponsorship of green conferences and events. Our Branches have educated local government officials and CEOs about sustainability, brought in high-profile speakers for important conferences, celebrated the holidays together, worked with children and educators to teach green principles, sponsored study sessions for eager students … and much more.
