Launched in March 2011, BIG NIGHT IN LITTLE HAITI centers around family friendly free concerts at Miami’s beautiful new Little Haiti Cultural Center. Outstanding Haitian music and arts in a setting accessible to the South Florida community at large, plus the neighborhood, filled with art studios, restaurants, retail, and performance venues activated to create an unprecedentedopportunity for people to enjoy a night out in Little Haiti. Artists presented to date include Magnum Band, Beethova Obas, BelO, Boukan Ginen, Shleu Shleu All Stars, Jowee Omicil, and other groups from Haiti’s rich konpa, kreyol jazz and rasin roots music traditions.
The night also includes Caribbean arts and crafts from quality vendors, coordinated openings and events in the district’s art studios, hands-on arts events for children. Neighboring restaurants and cultural venues are encouraged to create their own special events as part of Big Night in Little Haiti.
Sustainatopia 2012 is pleased to partner with Rhythm Foundation to produce a bigger night in little Haiti! N’ap boule!
