Take an exclusive tour of Coral Morphologic’s fantastic studio, led by co-founder Colin Foord. After this amazing tour, receive a one-of-a-kind momento of your experience.
Coral Morphologic is a marine biologist-owned coral aquaculture laboratory and multi-media aquarium studio based in Overtown (Miami), Florida. They spend our time cloning corals, exploring coral reefs, making educational films, and documenting marine-life using cutting-edge techniques. Their aim is to create a multi-media output that advances scientific discourse in a manner that is both artistic and understandable. For more information and examples of their art, photography, and multi-media works, please visit http://morphologicstudios.com
As marine biologists and aquaculturists, their ultimate goal is to improve the understanding and appreciation of coral species, specifically those local to Florida’s reefs.
Over the years, they have contributed valuable information to the scientific world, including the discovery of two new zoanthid species, along with increasing the understanding of the biological requirements, reproductive strategies, and morphological adaptations of under-studied corallimorph and zoanthid species.
The Smithsonian Institution, MIT, and multiple public aquariums all display their corals. They have a long-term goal of creating a living, genetic data bank of coral species and morphs that serves as a platform for developing new aquaculture techniques and biological essays. They work in formal collaboration on this goal with their partners at the Coral Biome project, housed at the Universite de Provence in Marseilles, France.
