Hit the beach at 29th street on Saturday the 21st from 11am – 3pm for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate nature with the local ocean community
- Pro kiteboarders will be on the water putting on a spectacular display, and on hand to discuss the sport and answer your questions!
- Come discuss the environment and network on the sand with other environmental professionals !!!
- Help cleanup the beach area with the local ocean community
Kiteboarding is one of the world’s fastest growing water sports. The consistent winds, crystal blue ocean, and warm weather of Miami provide a world class Kiteboarding destination. Kiteboarding is an awe-inspiring sport that truly showcases the power of nature and the endless possibilities that exist when a quest for adventure, and human ingenuity collide. Athletes can flip, spin, jump over 40 feet in the air, and ride at speeds of over 50 miles an hr all without the assistance of fossil fuel.
However, Kiteboarding goes far beyond just the beauty of Miami’s beaches and the extreme elements of the sport. People from age 8 to 88 are Kiteboarding in locations all over the world, both on land and snow. Even more exciting are the principles of kite design which have been used to power scientific exploration in Antarctica, save fuel for massive tanker ships crossing the ocean, and are being used to research more efficient wind power generation. Kiteboarding is truly a sport of sustainability and the future.
